Griffin Taper Mounts interface with Recce, PHS, and Sportsman series silencers. The Minimalist series supports the Optimus Mid-Size configuration. Constructed of 17-4 PH stainless steel, the Taper Mount Minimalist flash suppressor has 3 flash suppressing tines which have anti-reasonance features integrated. The Minimialist flash suppressor weighs 2.9 ounces , approximately 40% less than that of most competing flash suppressor mounts. The lighter weight reduces suppressor system weight while making the host firearm barrel lighter and more responsive to the shooter. The flash suppressor does not require timing. Taper Mount Thread Protector is compatible with this muzzle device for added protection of thread mounts. The Griffin Armament taper mount muzzle devices interface with our taper mounted suppressor (RECCE, PALADIN®, Sportsman, Optimus®) The Taper Mount Hammer Comp provides 2 sacrificial baffles that reduce recoil and ensure maximum service life of your suppressor. Slotted compensating features provide tuned muzzle stability. CNC machined from a solid bar of heat treated 17-4ph stainless steel, the Taper Mount Hammer Comp is built to last. This muzzle device is 1.89" length from the countersunk thread shoulder to the front face, and is = length to an A2 flash suppressor with .14" thick crush washer, so it can be used in conjunction with so called "14.7" barrels which are marketed as able to be permed to 16.1" non NFA length using an A2 and crush washer. The actual barrel length 14.835" will bring this device and crush washer mounted A2's to ~16.1" breech face to forward surface of permed barrel assembly. This was a low concussion hybrid comp that allowed a compact yet high performance device to mount a suppressor. Consumers have been requesting a Taper Mount version of this for many years and we are happy to complete this product development without compromise. Griffin has focusing more on muzzle device R&D than any other suppressor manufacturer. This device incorporates vast R&D resources from years of testing low concussion devices but also adds to it with new technology. Billet machined from 2 pieces of 17-4 Stainless steel, this device is precision TIG welded together to provide the largest possible internal expansion chamber which reduces concussion as effectively as possible. This design would be impossible to manufacture in a single CNC cut work piece. The flash hider front cap was derived and applied from the high performance RECCE suppressor flash hider front caps while adding a thick erosion resistant face to ensure extremely long service life. CNC machining this device in two pieces is more expensive and time consuming than a single piece device for both machine time and human handling however no corners were cut to produce the optimal design. Blending lower pressure concussion and flash with reduced recoil and muzzle movement has been made possible for Taper Mount Suppressor users with the new Taper Mount Tactical Compensator.
