How to Order a Firearm

If you are ordering a firearm or AR-15 lower receiver, follow these steps.

Failure to follow this guide may result in order delays. Firearms can only be shipped to licensed dealers in your state of residence.

California Customer Prerequisite:
You MUST contact your dealer PRIOR to placing an order to ensure the legality of the firearm you want to purchase. Any returned firearms will be assessed a 15% restocking fee.

Age Requirements:
Federal law requires that you be 21+ to purchase a stripped lower receiver, handgun, or any firearm frame. Customers aged 18–20 may purchase complete long guns (rifles or shotguns).
State laws vary! Orders returned or cancelled because the customer does not meet age requirements will be assessed a 15% restocking fee.

You MUST contact your dealer PRIOR to purchasing to verify their transfer fees and policies.

Step 1 — Check if your dealer is on file

Find a dealer on file: Enter your ZIP to search JoeBob’s FFL list. Confirm your preferred dealer is listed, then add your firearm to cart and choose them at checkout. Works on phones and desktops — no popup.

If your dealer is on file, you’re set — proceed to checkout (Step 2). If they’re not listed, you can still order; see Step 3 after checkout for how to get their license to us.

Step 2 — Choose your dealer at checkout

  1. Add your firearm (or lower) to the cart and go to checkout.
  2. In the FFL dealer panel, search and select your dealer. Selecting them autofills the shipping company and address fields with the dealer’s info.
  3. Keep YOUR first and last name in the shipping name fields (many dealers want the customer’s name on the box).
  4. Do NOT check “billing same as shipping.” Enter YOUR credit card billing address separately, pick a shipping method, then pay on our secure checkout.

That’s it for dealers already on file — no extra license upload needed.

Step 3 — New dealers only (not on our list)

If your dealer was not on file and you couldn’t select them from the list, have them send us their FFL ASAP and reference your order # and/or name:

Optional post-checkout upload prompts (when shown) are only for these new dealers — skip them if you already selected an on-file dealer at checkout.

Once your order ships, you’ll get email tracking updates. If there’s a problem with the order or the FFL, we’ll contact you so it can ship ASAP.

When the firearm arrives at your dealer, you’ll complete the background check there. Please contact your local dealer with any questions about the legalities of owning a firearm BEFORE you order — laws vary by state.
